Terms

In force from 23 September 2026.

These terms apply when you request a review, free or paid. They are written to be read rather than skimmed, because the most important thing in them is what this service does not do.

  1. Who we are

    Careful Copy is operated by Peter Pohlmann, sole trader, Avenida Pinhal de Caldas 53, Verdizela, 2855-609 Corroios, Portugal, NIF 296995959. Contact: info@carefulcopy.com. Full details are on the legal notice.

  2. Business customers only

    Reviews are provided to businesses. When you submit a site you confirm that you are requesting it for a business, and that the site is yours or that you are authorized to submit it. We may decline or delete any request where that does not appear to be the case.

  3. What you receive

    An automated editorial review of your pages: a trust and clarity score, findings that quote your own wording, suggested replacement wording, a suggested answer block and structured data, and a separate list of items to raise with a lawyer. Each finding names the rule it came from and the rule set version in force when the review ran.

    The free review covers your homepage. Paid tiers cover more pages, as described at the time of purchase.

  4. Reviews are produced by software

    The checks run automatically against the published rule set. No person reads your report before you do. Findings are patterns, not verdicts: a rule matching your page does not mean the sentence is wrong, and you are free to reject any suggestion.

  5. This is not legal advice

    Careful Copy is not a law firm. Reviews do not assess whether any content is lawful, certify nothing, and promise no outcome with any search engine or authority. Items touching credentials, insurance, jurisdiction claims, consent and data handling, pricing, testimonials or mandatory information are listed under "Legal review items" with no suggested wording, because those decisions carry legal weight and belong with a qualified lawyer in the country concerned.

    You decide what to publish, and you remain responsible for the content on your own site.

  6. Rewrites never add facts

    A suggested rewrite will not introduce a number, a credential, a name, a framework or a claim that was not already on your page. Where better wording would need a fact we do not have, the suggestion leaves a bracket for you to fill in. Checking that any fact you insert is accurate is your responsibility.

  7. No patient data

    We read only the public pages of your website. Do not send patient data, clinical records or anything identifying an individual patient. We delete any submission that appears to contain it, and we may decline to continue.

  8. Prices, payment and refunds

    Prices are as shown at the time of purchase, in US dollars, before any tax that applies. One-off reviews carry a fourteen day refund, no questions asked. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and stop at the end of the period already paid for.

  9. Your content and your responsibility

    You keep all rights in your own content. You grant us permission to read your public pages and to quote them inside the review we return to you. You agree to cover us against claims that arise from your own published content, including anything you publish after a review.

  10. Limits on liability

    Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

    Otherwise, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost business or lost rankings.

  11. Availability

    The free review is offered as a courtesy and may be withdrawn, limited or declined. Paid reviews are delivered within the time stated at purchase. If we cannot deliver, you are refunded.

  12. Your data

    What we collect, why, and how long we keep it is set out in the privacy notice. What is stored in your browser is on the cookie page.

  13. Changes

    We may change these terms. The version in force when you request a review is the one that applies to it, and the date at the top of this page tells you which that is.

  14. Law and disputes

    Portuguese law applies, and the Portuguese courts have jurisdiction. If something has gone wrong, write to info@carefulcopy.com first. In practice the answer to a review you are unhappy with is the report, the rule set version it ran against, and a refund.
