Can ChatGPT read your website?

AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can only quote and recommend pages their crawlers are allowed to read. Enter your address to see who can read your site, plus your page basics, security settings, email protection and mobile speed.

We don't store the address you check. No AI, no account.

What this check looks at

AI assistant access. Your robots.txt file decides which crawlers may read your site. We check the crawlers behind ChatGPT search and browsing, ChatGPT training, Claude, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Apple Intelligence and Common Crawl, and whether Google search itself may read your pages.

Files AI and search engines look for. llms.txt, robots.txt, and whether your sitemap is listed.

Page basics. Title, meta description, main heading, canonical tag, language, structured data, image alt text, social preview image and the mobile viewport, on your homepage.

Security and email. Six security headers, and whether your domain is protected against forged email (DMARC, SPF and DKIM). Fake appointment or results emails in a practice's name are a real risk for patients.

Mobile speed. Google PageSpeed Insights on a phone, loaded separately because it takes about twenty seconds.

Questions

Why would an AI assistant not be able to read my site?

Your robots.txt file tells crawlers what they may read. Some sites block AI crawlers on purpose, many do it by accident through a security plugin, a template or a hosting default. A blocked assistant cannot quote or recommend your pages.

Should I allow AI training crawlers?

That is a business choice. Search and browsing crawlers decide whether an assistant can show your page in an answer; training crawlers only collect text for future models. Many practices allow the first and decide case by case on the second.

What is llms.txt?

A short text file at the root of your site that tells AI assistants what the site covers and which pages matter. It is new and optional, and quick to add.

Is this the same as the free homepage review?

No. This check is technical and takes seconds. The free review reads every line of your homepage for patient trust, clarity and search readiness, and suggests the wording to use instead.

This is a technical check. It is not legal advice and does not assess the legality of any content. The free homepage review reads the wording itself, against our published rule set.
